Mikki begins a new year at Chilleen Academy sad and missing her best friend, Jenny. Things get worse when she finds out her new roommate is her former good friend, Diane, but she's happy to help out a neat old woman, Mrs. Wembly. When Mrs. Wembly helps Mikki cast a spell to get back at Diane for reading her diary, Mikki discovers that the spell doesn't work on Diane, but has strange effects on her. Finally Mikki grows older and older and it is only with Diane's help that she reverses the spell. After working together to get rid of the spell, they rekindle their old friendship and are glad to be roommates. ( )
