Fascinating book on a neglected aspect in the philosophy of science, experimentation. The author's main point is that scientific experimentation isn't only about rationality and control. It also includes an element of uncertain 'play' for which no direct guidelines or instructions can be given. I highly recommend this book as an antidote to the stilted perspectives of regular philosophy of science. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Crease's brilliantly exploited theatrical analogy places scientific theorizing back into the wider context of experimental inquiry." --Robert C. Scharff Crease attacks the "mystical" account of experimentation embraced by the positivist and Kantian varieties of philosophy of science, according to which experimentation takes a backseat to theory.
