Michael Ross is a Canadian who almost serendipitously immigrated to Israel after a tour with the Canadian army. He converted to Judaism, married an Israeli, and was recruited to the Mossad after his military time. This memoir tells about his thirteen years in Israeli intelligence, both overseas and at home, including an assignment as a combatant in Caesarea, the highly compartmentalized “Mossad within the Mossad.” One intriguing fact is the large number of foreign born personnel within the Mossad, which allows the agency to operate in countries where an Israeli passport isn’t welcome. The Volunteer is a surprisingly detailed account told with apparent candor – when practicable. It’s a fascinating look into the secretive Mossad. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
When Michael Ross decided to go backpacking across Europe, he had no inkling that his vacation would lead to a life tracking down the world's most dangerous terrorists. In Israel, out of money and alone, Ross began working on a Kibbutz--and fell in love with both the country and an Israeli woman. After converting to Judaism, Ross was recruited by the country's secret service--the Mossad--as an undercover agent. In the years that followed, he played a significant role in capturing al-Qaeda members responsible for the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, and worked jointly with the FBI and CIA to uncover a senior Hezbollah terrorist living in the United States. His never before revealed story makes an action-packed biography. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
