Heidi was a orphan who was sent by her aunt to live with her grumpy granfather who lived in the mountains with his goats, Little Swan and Little Bear. She makes friends with Peter the goatherd who takes her and the goats to the pasture, his mother and sick grandmother. Three years later when she is eight her aunt comes for her to take her to Frankfurt with the mean Fraulein Rottenmeir, kind Sebastian the butler and Clara the invaild. When she is hoesick she tries to run away but is caught and faints. The doctor sends her back but she has to face the the time when her granfather to get used to her before he loves her. When their comes a visit from Clara Heidi spends all her time with her.Peter gets jealous of Clara for getting Heidi all the time so early one morning ,when they all asleep he pushes Clara's chair down the mountain so it breaks.
