Nico is part of the foundation of Venice, the sea beast shifters have a connection to the sea goddess protecting Venice and have always been around to protect the city. Now as the head of the most powerful sea beast family and a member of the city council, not to mention a general in the Navy, it's his duty to track down the Pirate King that has been taunting our beloved Venetians for months. If only Nico had known he would be walking into the chase of his life.

This book has everything: Italian swagger, swashbuckling pirates, shifters, magic, sea battles, a badass pirate king (or should we say queen?), and chemistry so hot it's throwing off sparks. Nico has spent his life being seen and respected only for his power and family influence. Sophia has spent her life making a name for herself and making her own power. She's the first to really put him in his place and keep him on his toes, not to mention the first to NOT care about his money and family name. Her willingness to meet him at every turn (with both wit and sass) is intoxicating and provides some amazing banter, and of course leads to some steamy scenes as well.

A wonderful third installment in this ongoing venetian series, now we all get to wait for book 4 to see what is in store for the Grand Sorcerer and his nemesis the White Wolf. ( )
