Callie Stone walked away from everything she knew including her family, her father's motorcycle club, and especially, Wes Ryan, her friend turned lover. With the death of her father, Wes has taken over as president and Callie must deal with a funeral, while returning to all she left behind. Wes has never stopped loving Callie, but his loyalty is to the club that Callie wants no part of. With internal club politics heating up and a rival gang making waves, Callie and Wes may have to join forces in order to stop what might be the death of them all.

As with many MC romances, the motorcycle club in Where We Started is a far cry from reality. Even so, this story manages be engaging and the romance, entertaining. Several well written love scenes add another layer to this complex plot filled with a variety of characters and motivations. However, the plot is plagued with uneven pacing, and the character of Callie is sometimes frustrating as she frequently does things that she admits she shouldn't do. Wes's character leaps back and forth from being a sweet man, deeply in love with Callie to a hard nosed MC president. As a matter of fact, the voices of the two characters come across as very similar. Overall, Where We Started is an enjoyable MC romance if the reader is able to overlook some of the novel's deficiencies. ( )

Quickie Review-May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading this review

Where We Started i a book that I was really excited for. I have been seeing so many rave about this one here. I was really hoping that this one would sell me, but unfortunately it didn't quite execute as I would have liked. It still is close to 4 stars but I really struggled with this one here. For a contemporary MC romance, it could have been done better. It kinda felt like this author didn't know if she wanted to write a contemporary or a dark romance for this one. There were mixed elements and it felt like it was going back and forth constantly. The romance in this one was a blend. There was so much angst between this couple and to be honest I didn't feel like this one was even close to being resolved. There were some issues we see them struggle with never get resolved and it just never felt satisfying enough for me. I also wasn't a fan with how this one left off. I am hoping we get more books here, but I really had high hopes for this one here and it didn't quite work as I would have loved for it to be. I love a good MC romance, but this one was so flawed in so many ways. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't hate this book, not at all. It got close to 4 stars, but the heroine was a bit annoying at times and there were elements to this story that just didn't seem practical for a MC setting here. I will keep up with this series because I am intrigued, but this one could have been better. ( )

OMG. I absolutely loved this book so much. I devoured it so fast. Wes had my heart, despite him being a bit of a bully towards Callie in the beginning. Yet, I understood why as it was, he was genuinely hurt by Callie as she had broken his heart.

The chapters when Wes and Callie were younger and how their relationship went from friends to more just endeared me to them both. When Callie read her father's letter, I may have shed a few tears. The angst between these two was hot. I could not get enough and just kept waiting for it to explode and for these two to kiss. Boy was I not disappointed!

I definitely will be continuing this series. Where We Started will make you lose sleep as you will not be able to put this book down! ( )
