Adults read picture books for any number of reasons: choosing enjoyable reads for their young relatives and friends, recognizing the value of the art of illustration; and just enjoying a well-told story. And some of us just never got over leaving picture books behind when we moved on to chapter books! Whatever the reason, I suggest that you choose a picture book and add it to your checkouts the next time you're at your local library or Little Free Library. I chose The Swing, written and illustrated by Britta Teckentrup, and was greatly moved by all the playmates, parents, and even foxes, who share a two-seater swing on a bluff by the ocean, in all four seasons and in all weathers. The gorgeous art conveys the sense of wonder and adventure of moving into the sky with the sea churning below. A plot develops late on in the narrative, and it will be treasured by both the reader and by the person who gets to just sit close and marvel at the images. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
