Reading Marry Christmas by Linda Phillips made me feel like I was wrapped up in a warm, twinkling Christmas scene. The protagonist, burdened by a learning disability but gifted with a unique perception of the world, resonated with me on a deep level. After reading this, I felt both moved and charmed by the hopeful narrative and the resilient spirit of the main character.
The book, filled with a nice blend of heart, humor, and the magic of the holiday season, reminded me of the importance of hope and peace in the face of adversity. The conclusion I came to after reading this was that 'Marry Christmas' is a testament to the human spirit, a story that underscores the magic of love and Christmas. It's a delightful read that will leave you feeling hopeful and ready to face the world with a renewed sense of courage and optimism. ( )

I was moved by the pure emotional force of Linda Phillips' debut novel Marry Christmas. The story centers around the character of Britanica Jaymes, a woman burdened by an undiagnosed learning disability but gifted with a unique and tender perception of the world. The name Britanica screams intelligence, and the irony isn't lost on the readers or the character herself. Yet, she becomes an easy character to love, her resilience and outlook making her all the more admirable.
Phillips' writing style carries an enchanting air, wrapping the narrative in a soft glow reminiscent of twinkling Christmas lights. She deftly weaves a story of hope, love, and the magic of the holiday season, making it a perfect read any time of the year, not just during the festive period.
It isn’t all mistletoe and candy canes, though. Britanica has her fair share of struggles - the candy canes themselves pose a peculiar problem! Yet, the novel is brimming with hope and peace, and the reader can't help but root for Britanica as she navigates her journey, trying to achieve her secret Christmas wish.
Marry Christmas is not just a romantic novel; it's a testament to the human spirit and the magic of love and Christmas. It's a charming, heartfelt story that feels like it would fit perfectly on the Hallmark Channel - a simple yet tender tale with a dash of humor, a sprinkle of Christmas spirit, and a big bundle of love, hope, and peace.
In the end, Marry Christmas by Linda Phillips is a delightful read that left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. A highly recommended read for those who appreciate a good dose of holiday cheer any time of the year. ( )

Marry Christmas was quite a charming book in a very Hallmark Channel kind of way. I guess it’s really a case of it is what it is, quite a simple emotional story of an underdog in the shape of Britanica Jaymes getting swept up in a fairytale type of story and ultimately, or perhaps not, no spoilers, finding love.

It was an enjoyable read. No big surprises but if you’re after a tender although rather simple read then you could do a lot worse than to check out Marry Christmas. I could easily see this getting a small screen adaption to the aforementioned Hallmark Channel. ( )

Marry Christmas by Linda Phillips was a charismatic novel that follows the life of Britanica James (a unique main protagonist with a rather odd name) she has endured a lot due to her disability but she doesn’t allow her suffering to change her view of the world and of finding love. However, Britanica does have one serious issue to contend with and feeling in desperate need she decides to make a secret Christmas wish, will it come true?

What a wonderful story. Author Phillips has created a cast of characters that are believable and who stand apart from each other as distinct individuals. They behave in understandable and realistic ways through the novel and that just makes me love them all the more. Too often we find characters behaving in bizarre ways just to fit a specific plot point along the way, but Marry Christmas ticked all of the right boxes for me There’s a perfect amount of heart and a sprinkling of added humor to this book, and Phillips has done an amazing job of bringing the whole blend of emotion and Christmas spirit together in a big bundle of love, hope and peace.

I will definitely add future Linda Phillips books to my wish list. ( )

Marry Christmas by Linda Phillips is a charming book with a unique main character in Britanica Jaymes . She's had a learning disability she's dealt with, and along with an unusual name, her share of bullying. Despite her struggles, the magic of Christmas and the support of loved ones help to create a hopeful recipe for a perfect holiday. However, her weakness for candy canes proves to be a hindrance. A charming narrative that gives hope and peace during the holiday season that will carry throughout the year, this book is highly recommended. ( )
