The presentation was too artsy fartsy at times which resulted in drowning out the story in general.
I'm still trying to figure out why the margins all of a sudden were on the opposite side, if someone can enlighten me, I'd be much obliged. It 's not inner monologue, if it was, it wasn't consistent, so what was the point of that?
Coming back to the story, which was entertaining. It is not your usual murder mystery, which made it quite refreshing.
I won't say anything about the subplot, that's not really my place, but it was interesting to hear about the different perspectives.
On the other hand it was at time hard to follow, when the narrator for example slipped into a hallucinating kind of state and then all of a sudden we are at a total different place with a fair amount of time passed.
Overall, if Kobby Ben Ben would have toned down the artsyness by half and let the story speak more for itself (which really was more than good enough to carry the book by its own) it would have been a more enjoyable read all together. (
