Even though Froggy's dad tried to help him Froggy keeps making silly little mistakes and misunderstanding. However, by the end of the game Froggy is super excited when he hits a home-run. Personal Reaction: I enjoyed this book but it is probably not a book I would read over again because it did not really peak my interest. However this would be a good book to introduce literary elements with. Classroom Extensions: 1.)Introduce the students to Onomatopoeia using examples from the story, "He wound up and swung-whack!" (pg.1) and then ask the students to provide you with a list of other examples of onomatopoeia. 2.) Ask the students to find a book from the library that has examples of Onomatopoeia and then share the book with the class. 3.) Have the student create their own illustration page for a story, using the same characters and plot or different, with examples onomatopoeia included in the picture.
