In this first book in the series, Moxie Maxwell is assigned to read Stuart Little before school starts. It is the day before school and although she has spent the summer with the book--it has gone everywhere with her--she has not even started it. It has ridden in the car with her on errands, been to the pool, under the leg of the coffee table, covered in lemonade and ants, in the backyard hammock, but never opened. Now she has less than 24 hours to read the entire book or there will be "consequences" from her mother! This is a funny, funny book, filled with lots of hilarious scenarios. Students will enjoy the actual photographs of the events described. It's format is short, easy to read chapters that even the most reluctant readers will enjoy. There are 3 books in this series, including Moxie Maxwell Does Not Love Practicing the Piano and Moxie Maxwell Does Not Love Writing Thank You Notes. ( ) Narrated by Clea Lewis. Does Moxy have ADHD? I'd say so because she gets supremely distracted from her assigned summer reading of "Stuart Little" which she's been putting off all summer. Her plan to read during the time-between-activities never gets off the ground because she always comes up with another activity for in-between. Bouncing slapstick comedy read in a girlish, idealistic tone (Moxy is always confident about her elaborate plans) by Clea Lewis. Moxy Maxwell is a soon-to-be fourth grader that has put off her summer reading of "Stuart Little." Despite loving to read, Moxy had more important things to do over the summer, like train for her water-ballet. In her last attempt to finish the book before the summer ends, Moxy finds herself facing various consequences for procrastinating. A smart, quick witted read told from the perspective of Moxy in a photo-like journal. Good for reluctant readers, as they could relate to Moxy, as well as the photo-like journal and short chapters. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
