A short novella about a college girl named Sadie, who was abandoned by her mother at 1 year old. Sadie lives a normal college life, despite living with her past experiences of being in the foster system while having magic powers she can't explain. All her life she's had to keep her magic hidden (even sent to a mental facility when her foster parents discovered her having magic, sending her there due to "mental problems"), so Sadie hasn't exactly had the best relationships or best time making friends either... She gets close to her college roommate for a bit, but that changes when she's forced to tell her friend that she's a witch (or... at least Sadie thinks she's a witch...). And while her friend might be accepting of it, life quickly starts to fall apart, as a magic society she knew nothing about seems to know a lot about her, and it out to get her...

It's a decent little read, it's very short and as a result of being short, the action and mystery feel rushed (even if it all does end well). But it's still solid enough despite the length and the pacing. Give the audiobook a lesson. It's free on YouTube on the author's channel and narrated by a human reader and not an AI - which is great.
