The big message in this book is that rules are important and have a purpose. In this book Katie Kazoo gets in trouble for holding her friends cellphone at lunch and has to stay in fro recess. This weird magic thing happens to Katie where she gets turned into other people. She get's turned into the principle and tells the school there are no rules anymore, which sounds great, until everything goes terribly wrong when she gets switched back to herself and Mr. Kane almost gets fired. I thought this was an okay book. One reason I liked this book is because the plot is suspenseful and engaging. The plot is suspenseful because it involves magic and her turning into the principle, and the whole time the reader is wondering what is going to happen once she is turned back into herself. Another reason I liked this book is the characters are believable and well developed. At one point in the book Katie and her friend Suzanne get in trouble for passing notes and they try really hard to not get caught, but they go and the teacher reads there note aloud and they get super embarrassed. Their reaction to the situation is relatable to readers in elementary school. Finally, a reason I didn't like this book is the writing is super dull and has almost no descriptive language. For example, when the author is describing a girls outfit she says "She was wearing cowboy boots and a skirt." I feel like there could have been more description and engaging language throughout the book. ( )
