Excellent, thought-provoking and intriguing addition to the Luther Arkwright series, reverting to a stark black and white after the sumptuous colour of the last installment. Not a criticism; in a way the monochrome approach suits the subject material better. The plot is too convoluted and a bit spoiler-y to summarise here, I'll just leave it by saying it is a solid and satisfying addition to the rest of the series and ties in comfortably to the other two main parts.
Now if only some enterprising publisher would collect all the extra parts of the series that have gone untouched, and given their underground/outsider origins, probably unseen for the past fifty years... ( )
