By some estimates, we will spend over 100,000 hours at work during our lifetime. With more than half of our waking hours revolving around work, our means of producing a paycheck has become one of the most dominant dimensions of our lives, absorbing a huge commitment of our life energies.Unfortunately for so many, our work is not what we relish but rather a major source of pain. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to say at the end of our lives, "My work was worth it--the challenges, the hardships, and the rewards. I invested those years well. I made a difference"? How can we learn to work this way?In Run With the Bulls Without Getting Trampled, veteran corporate psychologist Tim Irwin presents the distilled essence of what makes some succeed and others derail in the workplace. Using compelling real-life stories to launch each chapter, not only is Irwin transparent with the lessons he has learned from his own experiences, but he also shares the invaluable insights and principles he has gathered from thousands of interviews with senior executives.Featuring Irwin's seven critical success factors as well as six common career derailers, this hard-hitting but entertaining book is your guide to finding lasting fulfillment in your career. After all, you are investing so much into your job. Shouldn't it also be investing in you?… (más)

# Run With the Bulls
“Run With the Bulls taught me commitment, authentic character, and competence. Thoughtfully commit to the work you do. Day in and day out. Never slack of providing motivation, positivity and education in your poetry. Be the same wherever you go. No matter what. You learned that from Hussein bin Talal..Do not complain. Get on with business. Do not stop. Keep starting over. Show exceptional competence by keeping your mouth shut and doing what you are told without question. People have their reasons for telling you to do what they tell you. You do not have to know why. It is not your place to know why. Neither it is their place to know your story, or your condition, or your lack of family cohesion. Keep that to yourself. Instead sing to yourself. Write poetry. Read books. Run like a Cleaner and build up your skills in small chess piece steps. It compounds. Fade in the background and listen keenly without saying anything. You learn a lot and will soak up more than those that talk more than you do! Start today on listening and it will teach you gems you never knew about life. Just observe and be patient and work. Your time will come for promotion when all your naysayers and haters will be amazed at your competence. Do not ever doubt God and His Plan. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. So hold your head up high and smile. Because God is standing by protecting you by and by. One day you will run with the bulls when no one expects it. So keep paying your dues and being an asset to those in need.” ( )
