This isn't an easy review to write because I'm afraid that if I say much of anything, it'll give too much away or be spoilery. I loved this audiobook alc, but of course, Kiersten Modglin is fast becoming a favorite for me. The audio is done very well with this book and the narrators are amazing. Melissa Moran, Nancy Wu, and Allyson Ryan do a great job of bringing the characters and the story to life and drawing you into the world and everything. This was a quick listen, and it kept me interested and wanting to finish to know the ending. So, to give a brief recap without giving too much away... this is like I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan, except it's much later in life and they're much older and there's an escape room type factor. It's about a group of curious and gossipy neighbors who see a new neighbor move in and wonder who they are and when or if they're going to meet them, then the curious neighbors get invited to dinner with the new neighbors and things suddenly get creepy, scary and weird. It's a thrilling listen that's immersive and well-done with the audio. I highly recommend listening to this one. Thanks so much to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for letting me listen and review this fantastic story. All thoughts and opinions are my own. "We had no choice." "We had no choice." "We had no choice" Let me start by saying, I am going to think long and hard about accepting any dinner invitations from any of my neighbors now! We are introduced to six main characters, Lakynn and Henry, Bethany and Leo, Piper, and Shane. All are curious about the new neighbors that just moved in down the street and the tall concrete wall being constructed around it. Well, they get the chance to meet the odd new residents of their cul-de-sac when the unaddressed invitations arrive, inviting them to a dinner party. Right away, they realized something just isn't right with the new couple, Penn and Etta. When the lights go out, and the 6 friends find themselves trapped in the house with no way out but to solve cryptic puzzles and riddles, they find they no longer know who can be trusted among them, who is lying and keeping secrets, and who is behind all of this. When two of their group disappear, it becomes a race to find them and get out. But, is there time? Was their captor ever planning on letting them leave at all? Will the truth really set them free? This has all the lies, secrets, and twists and turns I've come to love from this author. She's the Queen for a reason and with every amazing book she earns a new jewel in her crown! Loved, loved, loved this one and I urge everyone to grab it!! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
