It is pretty bittersweet to have to say goodbye to these characters. It has been one heck of a ride. From almost the beginning, my interest was piqued by Sera and Rhys. There was just something about both of these characters that spoke to me.
I knew that there was something to Sera besides just a diva. Just like I knew that there was more to Rhys than just the devil/callous jerk that he portrayed. I had no idea how much more there was until this story. I loved that they pushed each other. Their animosity was real but just like that fine line between love and hate it was that way with these characters. Rhys pushed Sera into being "alive" for lack of a better word and Sera made Rhys realize that there is a purpose to living. The steamy times, when they happened were FIRE. Good Lawd, Rhys, and his mouth were delicious.
There is a major twist to this story that I did not see coming. It made a lot of things make sense. The reason that this book did not score higher was because of the major obstacle/drama in this book (not the twist) because it felt pretty outlandish and not very plausible considering where the characters had been just hours/days before this occurred. However, that was not enough to make it so that this book wasn't enjoyable. This has been one heck of a series. I am sad to see it end, considering this was how I discovered this amazing author. The author(s) did end it in a way that I am pretty excited to see where it leads.
