However, there is a mysterious out of town person interested in the property. Could he be the buyer she is hoping to find? Shay is shocked when she discovers that it is none other than Lincoln Reid, her love of sixteen years ago.
Author Josie Riviera weaves a wonderfully romantic tale as she sets the stage for Shanice and Lincoln to fall in love again. In spite of the fact that he is a very successful businessman and she is struggling to make ends meet, they have much in common. They are encouraged along the way by friends and my Lincoln’s older sister. Lincoln is completely charming…bringing old memories alive and trying to create new ones.
There are fun moments such as learning about how Lincoln always messed up the words to songs. These are balanced out with more reflective times such as finding out why Shanice broke up with Lincoln so many years ago. The story is set during Kwanzaa, and Ms. Riviera has done her research so that she can incorporate the traditions into her story and perhaps teach something about this holiday to those readers who know little about it.
It has been a while since her last book in this 1-800 series, so I was glad to see that this one lived up to my expectations.
Although this is a series and the reader does see some of the same characters in more than one book, each can easily be read without reading any of the others. ( )
