I knew from JR’s story that Scout’s book was going to be emotional because he is an emotional guy who cares hard, loves harder, and willing to help anyone out. He knows what he wants and goes for it so when he turned down an opportunity to play for the NFL to pursue his dreams he didn’t even hesitate or question it until Daisy walks back into his life. Daisy and Scout have been orbiting each other for years but never can find the stars to align and make anything of it and they decide since they both plan on leaving their small town to have a fun little fling. They finally collide but when it’s time to walk away there are feelings that have wound their way into both their hearts. Ultimately, they decide to chase their dreams and to walk away while they still can. Years later their worlds collide again but a lot of time has passed, and secrets have been kept, but can things work now or has the time apart been too much for either one of them to handle. I loved everything about this book and Scout was this amazing man who took care of those he loved and wasn’t willing to give up. The author has made me fall hard for the Dunne brothers, their small towns, and loving alpha ways. “Maybe sometimes you see the twist, and sometimes it catches you by surprise. I had been really looking forward to this book based on the blurb and cover. I fell in love with parts of the story but there were other parts that I wished had been smoother or fleshed out more. That being said, it was still a solid book with likeable characters. ( )
