These books are amazing because they get students hooked. That is my main goal as a future educator is to hook kids on reading and these books make it easy to do! ( ) The portrayal of Leonardo DaVinci in this was rather...interesting. He appears very flighty and possibly manic. I had heard that DaVinci was dyslexic, but I'm also wondering if perhaps Osborne had learned other tidbits about his psychosis and decided to include them, as well. I'm not sure how I felt about this book. Annie and Jack are off again, this time to find the secret of happiness, so that Merlin can be cured. Where else would they go to find the secret to happiness but to Florence, so they can visit with Leonardo da Vinci. The are instructed to spend the entire day with him, so although he tells them the secret of happiness early on in the day, they continue assisting him. Eventually they discover the true secret to happiness, just before the nightingale begins to sing its evening song. Short chapters, larger text than typical trade paperback books, and frequent pencil and charcoal illustrations aid the young reader in the transition from easy readers to regular chapter books. Recommended. Ages 7-9. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
