I can always count on them to give me a book that will make me smile, give me joy, and remind me that family comes in a plethora of ways. I am not normally a fan of sports romance but for this duo, I was ready to take the chance. I am glad that I did because it was very well crafted. I liked the superstitious aspect of this book because I have real-life friends that are this way and know that regardless of the sport they all have their beliefs of what construes a lucky streak. Aiden and Saige were great characters. I felt their connection throughout the book and enjoyed watching them turn something that was a less than idealistic start into a continuing tradition and the start of something more. Had a great groveling scene too. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Piper Rayne has a game-winner with MY LUCKY #13 (Hockey Hotties #1). Florida Fury NHL captain, Aiden Drake (aka Shamrock) finds himself on a losing streak. He gets a hat trick after spending the evening with social media manager Saige Fowler. Now he must convince her to help him stay on his winning streak. I love that Aiden never believed in superstitions until he was in a slump that he attributed Saige getting him out of. Boy did he change his tune. I also found the actual superstition amusing. I enjoyed Saige and Aiden’s dynamic. I love that they became friends first. There were some interesting obstacles throughout the story. This is the first book that I have read by Piper Rayne. I enjoyed her writing style. MY LUCKY #13 was a great start to the Hockey Hotties series. I am looking forward to Maksim Petrov’s story next in book two, THE TROUBLE WITH #9, expected to be released on August 10, 2021. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

"My Lucky #13 is smart, sexy and fun! A hot hockey player, a sassy heroine, the best superstition ever, and a slow burn romance that had me panting until they gave in. And if that wasn't enough, a happily ever after that had the crowd cheering. A definite must read!" - Carly Phillips, NY Times Bestselling Author Lucky. The one adjective used to describe my entire hockey career. I prefer to call it hard work, at least I did until my game went to complete crap. I haven't scored in eight games and the team owner is talking about trading me. I've never believed in superstitions. Never needed one. I suppose I was "lucky" in that way. But now the best way to refer to me is desperate. I'd wear the same socks for an entire year just to be the high-scoring center I used to be. Imagine my surprise when after spending New Year's Eve with a woman, I score a hat trick in the next game-that's three goals in one game for you non-hockey lovers. Now, I have to track her down and bribe her to do it again before every game. Get your mind out of the gutter, I'm not talking about it. I find her and when I get to know her better, I end up spending more time thinking about her than my game, but she's made it clear she wants no part of me. She's going to learn that I didn't become a professional hockey player without having to fight for what I want. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

"Kiss me," I say.
"Every day for the rest of my life."
The yearning in this book was just top notch.
The ending felt a little rushed but the first 75% more than made up for it. ( )
