Story in short: the Heroine is contracted to marry (what she assumes) the Second Son of a King but ends up marrying the First Son, himself a King. These 180+ pages detail how things move to this end.
The book itself is what I call ‘just the right pace’ - the reader can pick it up and put is down at will. So, no sleep-deprived work days while reading this one ;-).
The story itself is believable – it is about Royals who put Duty before Self and flows smoothly, so do the dialogues.
My favorite scene in this book is the Opening scene itself. It is is an attention-catcher and it gives just enough details about the “who’s” of this story. It also delineates how “simply being raised to respect duty and responsibility as paramount” essentially defines both protagonists. Very well crafted. The story flows smoothly thereafter. The ending though is a little rushed – a few more details on how N earns her appointment as the Queen would have been great!
Overall, this is a good book to cheer up, is high on talking and building a healthy relationship – not just mad passion. I am definitely going to pick up some more from this author.
P.S.: Book has a wife-beating and cheating character.
