In this second book of the "Blood Moon, Texas Shifters" series, the story focuses on werewolves Lacey and Dallas, two characters with only small roles in the first book. Lacey and Dallas have history and chemistry, issues and secrets. They're best friends. Or are they more?

Against the backdrop of increasing tensions between humans and paranormals, and among the paranormals, Lacey and Dallas work to figure out their lives. Like the first book, the story is told in first person from the two main character’s viewpoints, alternating, with some flashbacks, too, that help round out the characters. As the book progresses, it was wonderful to see the characters' growth.

The irreverent descriptions, nicknames, and commentary (from the characters' viewpoints) about the various events are great fun. The story is entertaining, with plenty of peril that helps keep the reader guessing about what (or who) is behind a new weapon against werewolves. The main characters' interactions are wonderful, often downright funny, and with some great sizzle, too. A very absorbing read and satisfying HEA! ( )
