I really enjoyed this book and reading about the tradition of Carnival from the perspective of Melba, the main character. This book is about Melba, who missed her ride to carnival, and is trying to make it there while having unexpected delays. At the end, she is upset about missing the parade, but soon realizes all the people she traveled with to carnival ended up seeming like they belonged in the parade. This book would be good for older elementary students or a younger read aloud because there are words in the book in Creole and it made be a little difficult for new readers to understand that there is more than one language written in the book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"The sights, sounds and tastes of vibrant Saint Lucia come to life in this cumulative #OwnVoices tale of a girl's journey to Carnival. When a series of unexpected delays disrupts her journey to the big parade, Melba must adjust both her expectations and her route to the festivities. Who will she meet and what will she learn along the way?"--Amazon. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
