With pirates, ships, adventure, romance and deceit the story is sure to keep readers interested til the very end. Now I have never had two men fight over me and I’m not sure if I would want that. But our lovey Georgia Ann experiences this as Samuel and Joshua via for her love. I absolutely loved the reading about the ships and how dangerous it was on the high seas. How would you react if your ship was taken over? I think my heart would sink and fear would sink in. There is a lot going on in this story and I have to say the author drew me in immediately. Georgia Ann has promised to wait for Samuel to return, but someone is determined to marry her first. My were there some very underhanded shenanigans going on to prevent Georgia Ann from marrying the love of her life. There is a faith element in the book that I thought was well written. We find a character who was willing to share God with someone and help them understand that God loved everyone. I liked that moment in the story where everything stopped for a brief time while we are witnesses to someone growing close to God. The story is filled with kidnappings, lies, sword fighting and an epic battle of good vs evil. Greed gets the best of someone and finds themselves deeper and deeper as they spiral out of control. They will do anything to get what they want including harming others. Get ready for an epic journey that takes readers to a time period that is well defined by the authors words historical research and an ending that is unforgettable. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion. We have hope. If God brought him here just when you and I need rescuing, do you think He would abandon us or Samuel now? - Belle to Georgia A race at a 12th birthday party that doesn’t finish until you read The End! Georgia Ann Cooper is the daughter of a plantation owner and much beloved by all who know her. Joshua Becket is studying to become a lawyer and his step-brother Samuel Vargas is a privateer and owns the Eagle. There is a great deal of adventure on the high seas with Spanish galleons, Turkish brigantines and British privateers vying for the treasures that abound from the Spice Islands and beyond. Capture is always possible even when treaties have been signed between countries. The excitement never stops in this historical tale of kidnapping, escape, sword fighting, imprisonment and even death. The fight against taxation without representation is heating up and the Sons of Liberty are forming. What an exciting time in the history of this country! This ARC of the second book in the Charleston Brides series was received through WildHeart Books and CelebrateLit. The comments and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I have to say some points of the book broke my heart, while other parts made me relieved. Having read the story of Marisol, I was glad to read a book about her son. This book moved along at a good pace. It had well-developed characters, along with an interesting storyline. So if you like historical fiction centered on God and family, check out this book for yourself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )
