Of course, as a result, Cathy McDavid’s The Cowboy’s Holiday Bride delighted me from beginning to end. In a story reminiscent of A Christmas Carol, Cash Montgomery plays the Scrooge, more focused on his wedding venue’s bottom line than the happily-ever-afters. As Cash revisits three of his former fiancees, he learns to reconcile with his past in a way that allows him to see potential in his future—maybe, even with his business partner Phoebe Kellerman. The Cowboy’s Holiday Bride offers a fun twist on a classic holiday tale. The friendship between Cash and Phoebe proves endearing and makes them an easy couple to cheer toward romance. I definitely recommend this to readers looking for a Christmas romance to read this season. I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. Phoebe was Cash's sister, Laurel's, best friend since childhood. Since his grandfather and father made poor business choices, the family farm land was mostly sold off. Now what is left of Cash's inheritance is on the brink of failure. Cash was a good business man and he would not let that happen. His sister had to be gone out of state for a prestigious account which could ensure their business' future success. Their partner, Phoebe, was the real reason the business was doing so well. Cash was happy being the silent partner who managed the books. He knew they could not hire a replacement to assist Phoebe while Laurel was gone, so he did the only thing he could... He took leave away from his full time job to cover for Laurel. What was he thinking??? This is a cute story of two siblings from a very dysfunctional family who are working together to create the perfect wedding venue, covering all the extra's as well. It portrays the struggles financially and emotionally involved in order to make that happen. It is also a story about a woman who has had strong feelings for a man since childhood and the struggles she is forced to go through. This is a great book of obsessions which often develop from fears. Although some convince themselves they have left feelings behind, eventually those feelings have to be dealt with to function more fully in life and relationships. The setting begins around Halloween time and continues on into the New Year ahead. The characters are all very interesting and well developed as are the scenes. The writing was great but not excellent. I felt the "drama" was dragged out too long. It was a very worthwhile story to read and inspires "Holiday cheer". This book was gifted me with o pressure for a positive review. This is my honest review. This book has many of the things that I love in a good story. There is a handsome cowboy, a young woman who has loved him (secretly) for years, and the excitement of planning a wedding for the holidays. Cash Montgomery is the commitment shy cowboy who is also a bit of a Scrooge. He's determined to save money, his business partner Phoebe Kellerman needs to spend it, and they both want to make their wedding venue successful. Their differing ideas provide fun confrontations and chances to witness their powerful chemistry. Will Cash continue to be clueless about Phoebe's feelings for him? What will happen when three of his former fiancées arrive at Wishing Well Springs for their Christmas weddings? Poor Phoebe! The Cowboy's Holiday Bride is a heartwarming holiday romance filled with likeable characters, witty dialogue, a great small town setting, and the special magic associated with Christmas. I recommend it to all who enjoy clean romantic fiction and I look forward to more books in this Wishing Well Springs series by author Cathy McDonald. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Prism book tours. I was under no obligation to write a favorable review. These are my own thoughts. Cathy McDavid starts a new series with a capable wedding planner who doesn’t back down when it comes to giving the brides and grooms their dreams. Of course, that doesn’t go over so well with Cash Montgomery, one of her two partners whose eye is on the bottom line instead of the happy couples. The fuse between Phoebe and Cash is sparked by witty dialogue and butting heads, but it soon catches with growing attraction. I felt like a guest during the gorgeous Christmas wedding scenes, and the last one is just a little sweeter than the rest. With this being the first book in a new series, I look forward to visiting Wishing Well Springs again soon. Changing his heart... Would be a Christmas miracle! Cash Montgomery creates Western-themed weddings and knows all about happily-ever-after. In theory. He's been hurt too many times to think that he could ever be a marrying man. His business partner Phoebe Kellerman doesn't agree with him--on anything! At Christmas, Cash is visited by three of his past girlfriends...and he begins to see the error of his ways. Will it be before he loses Phoebe, the woman he's falling for? This clean romance was quite cute, with several romantic twists as the hero, Cash learns a lesson in visits from his three ex-fiancees.
The descriptions of the setting made me wish I were there with the characters.
The banter between the main characters was really great, and I enjoyed seeing how they interacted throughout the whole book ... Even when a certain guy was so very dense that the reader may wish to douse him with water.
Content: Kissing, noticing a woman’s legs, and God’s name is said in vain a couple of times, which is why I gave three stars.
I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. ( )
