This is a quick prequel to Jonathan King's story that will be coming out soon. Since we first heard that daddy King would be getting his own book not only was I beyond excited, but I was definitely curious as to the storyline and who would catch his attention. This quick read not only gives us a glimpse of the king, it also shows us at some point he wasn't always heartless towards Aiden, he just wanted his son to be strong and know his worth. It also gives us the who, which shocked me to death and I can not wait to read more about their dynamic and how the King will handle this situation. Even if it is a prequel and only 5 chapters this author has set us up to prepare for The King and grasping to know more. ( )

I thought I was prepared for this book. I wasn't. I had a preconceived notion of Jonathan from the previous books, but just like this author is apt to do, she made the character come alive and show that there are many facets to this character and just because we have seen some of the layers of his complex character before that it doesn't mean that there aren't many buried under the surface.

There are a lot of questions as to what is happening and what will happen and I am here for it. This author is one of the best at writing romantic suspense and making me fall in love with not only the story but the many amazing characteristics of the characters. She leaves me on the edge of my seat and I love that.

I highly recommend anything that this author writes and this prequel is just an example of why. ( )
