The book contains real photographs depicting what the people and the environment look like. This gives students a good idea of what to focus on as they are reading. The story is very engaging and interesting. The author also shares some reality where hunger, for example is a serious issue that needs to be recognized. It helps students see what issues there can be in places around the world. The main idea of the book is to show students Cambodian culture. ( ) This is a great informational story about the culture of Cambodia. I love how this book contains real-life photos to show children what the people, as well as the food (amongst other things) looks like. Children can have an accurate picture in their minds as they read. This makes the story overall more engaging and interesting. I also like how the author does not sugarcoat the information about this country. For example, the author mentions how there is famine, and how food is not always easy to come by. On a lighter note, the author then talks about the different types of food that are popular and why. This demonstrates to children real-life problems, without making the information too heavy for them. Furthermore, the main idea of this book is to inform children about the culture of Cambodians. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
