A good addition to a spectacular series, this YA Manga is an adaptation of the Classic Anne of Green Gables. Gorgeous artwork and simple but effective text that emotes the essence of the original story. An inventive way to illustrate a classic, especially to readers who would not typically explore the original work. Recommended for YA readers and fans of adaptations.

This manga adaptation of Anne of Green Gables is fine. It’s fine. It’s dialogue lifted from the books combined with a waifish yet kawaii Anne doing stock anime reaction faces at Marilla and Matthew, who are generic manga old Europeans and can’t move their faces at all. If some children happen to enjoy this, it’s fine. But it would not be my preferred way to experience this story. ( )

This manga version of Anne of Green Gables is a delightful little read! I just finished reading the original Anne of Green Gables, which is why it took me so long to get to this book. I wanted to make sure I read. the original and could do a good comparison. And man, it was an accurate and lovely little resource to read the story in a different way. I really liked the illustrations and I felt like it worked really well with the material.

Anne and her kindred spirit are expressed with bright eyes and quirky traits. Matthew has one scene where his eyes are so big it's comical, but that was the only negative I could even think about this book. He looked kinda funny for a single frame.

Overall, this book is a great resource! If you loved Anne or if you want a different way to take this novel in, grab it! I think this manga classic is an excellent adaptation and I really loved jumping back in Avalon.
