The classic fable of the seven blind men and the elephant is retold as a silly easy reader story in Holiday House's I Like to Read series.
A crowd of silly animals, with cartoon eyes and pudgy stomachs, are having a party. A lioness appears with a blindfold, and the father lion brings on an elephant. Each animal gives a different picture of the elephant, "It is a tree." says the lion cub, picturing a tree trunk as he hugs the elephant's leg. "It is a wall" says the young giraffe, climbing a ladder to feel the elephant's side. Finally, after they've all made their guesses, their blindfolds are removed. "It is an elephant."

As a level B reader, the text is going to be very limited, so I wouldn't expect much from the that. The fun of this is in the goofy pictures, showing the silly animals playing their game.

Verdict: A great addition to low-level easy readers. These are in high-demand at my library, especially now, and I recommend this title.
