My favorite - of the games anyone has consented to play with me - was making up limericks, taking the lines in turn. The flimsy but fertile structure of games, the small, wilful artifices, are surprisingly wonderful in enriching our interaction. In cases like these, where the rules themselves may be manipulated, we have the refreshing experience of creating our own entertainment again. Once in a while, it's good to try.
