Definitely worse than the first one, but I still enjoyed it. The plot and character arcs were a little weaker and more contrived this time around. It also felt a little incomplete. I feel like there were some loose ends and development that still needed to happen, but just didn't. I would have liked to see a bit more development for Kyoshi, and for more time with Kuruk. I thought her connection to Kuruk was going to be the focus of the story and it felt like it was supposed to be, but it just kinda was thrown in there at the end. ( )

Boasting itself as the "conclusion" to Kyoshi's story, fans of Avatar will hope that's a false prediction as they clamor for the remaining two centuries' worth of Kyoshi's markedly mature adventures under the reliable pen of F.C. Yee. ( )

I think this series couldn't get any better and boy was I wrong. I absolutely loved this! ( )

Is this really the end of the story of Kyoshi? She lived to age 230 ...and this book just concludes the first few years of her being the Avatar. I feel ripped off.

There should be more. I'm hoping there will be.

Great conclusion to the first novel! The tone, action, and worldbuilding are so good -- both of a piece with the TV shows and their own thing. ( )
