Dumped, broke, and jobless, Candi Myers visits her sister in Sapphire Falls to help with her upcoming Christmas wedding. It's love at first sight for Troy Caine when he spots Candi nabbing mistletoe her first night in town. Catching her should be a slam-dunk for the hometown hero who gives advice to the lovelorn. Unfortunately, Candi is not looking to be burned again. Will a town filled with mistletoe, busybody matchmakers, and festive Christmas fun bring Candi and Troy's lonely hearts together? My Country Hearts Series is a light-hearted, heart-warming series of romances set in Erin Nicholas' Sapphire Falls world (made available by special license). Enjoy the stories in order or out of order. They are standalone and fun either way. Going Haywire, Honey & Max Going Toe to Mistletoe, Candi & Troy Going Hearts Over Heels, Ginger & Marsh Going Gets Hot, Amber & Chad… (más)

I was given an ARC for review consideration.

I read this novella during Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon. I chose it as a change up from the horror/mystery theme I had chosen. I have not read other books in the series.

The novella follows Candi as she goes to Sapphire Falls for her sister's wedding. Candi was just burned in a relationship. She has been seeking advice from an online relationship expert. Once in Sapphire Falls she is given a scavenger type list of things her sister needs for the wedding. The last item on the list is for Candi to find love.

This book was so much fun to read. I want to go back and read the series. The characters are fun and likable. The adventure Candi has while collecting the scavenger hunt items is hilarious. The online advice, and growth of Candi, is interesting to follow. Though the book is part of a series, I had no problem with understanding what was going on. I was absolutely comfortable in Sapphire Falls.

I would recommend this book to romance lovers and to Christmas fans. I adore Christmas set books and collect them like mad. This book is a keeper.

For those who want to know. There is some swearing and premarital sex. The sex is explicit. This is not a book you would hand your preteen as a Christmas romance. If you object to either of those things in a book, or are just turned off by them, you might want to skip this one. ( )

Sapphire Falls is a homey little town with some interesting people. The big draw for me is that Erin Nicholas created a place from love and that feeling permeates every author and character that comes through it. Rachelle Ayala knows how to have fun. With Going Toe to Mistletoe she manages to blend her trademark whimsy with heartwarming sentiment. Troy is Mr. Lonely Hearts. His talent for helping the lovelorn is legendary in his neck of the woods, but the fruits of his labor haven't done him any good. Enter Candi, fed up with love and down on her luck. A small town Christmas wedding could open the door to the chance at romance both are looking for. Tis the season to melt the heart and Ms. Ayala is off to a beautiful and entertaining start. ( )
