Lizette's Green Sock is a cute book about a duck (Lizette) looking for the other green sock she found. I found it sweet that her mom makes her the same exact sock, but then gives it to one of her friends. ( )

Lizette, a duck, finds one green sock on the ground and makes it a mission to find the other pair. As she goes through trial and error, she doesn't see the second pair, but her mother knits another sock for her and decides to do something fun with it involving one of her friends. ( )

Lizette's finds a lonely green sock, but quickly is made fun of my bullies Tim and Tom. They tell her that you can't wear only one sock, they need to be in a pair. Lizette becomes determined to find that other sock, but comes home sad empty handed. Her Mama, washes that green sock and hangs it out to dry. Brett, Lizette's friend comes over and discovers that this one sock sure makes a great green hat. Lizette is comforted by her friend and in the end gains another green sock for a hat which is made by her Mama.

Great story on friends being there to comfort others when bullies try to bring them down. Good story to read to a class to help prevent bullying by showing how our words and actions can be hurtful to others. ( )
