A short novella containing "case files" of characters in other Emery LeeAnn books. New Brunswick is an insane asylum that is featured in "Insane", "Forsaken" and "Lyssa's Destruction". Characters from those books are listed in this book. We already know about why they are in the asylum from the other books, but in this one we get a bit more in the way of backstory.

It also ties up the end of Lyssa's Destruction and gives a bit of a tie into the other series Emery writes.

If you read Lyssa's Destruction, you may as well read this one. ( )

5/5 Stars

This was a short read but so very vivid. Each of the chapters in this book featured a case file, the background of one of the characters within the Brunswick Asylum. To me, each of them read like cases off of the ID channel. Needless to say, this had me hooked from start to finish and I couldn’t put the book down until I turned the last page. And I say this literally because I read the entire thing in one sitting. I’ll definitely be looking for more work by this author in the near future.
