This book is for those who crave something different in their slow cooker. It is arranged into nine chapters which includes an introduction to slow cooking the Mediterranean way. I really enjoy the inclusion at the end of the book of the EWG list of “safe” fresh foods when shopping.
The Mediterranean diet has long been touted for its health benefits. The ingredients used are likely to keep you satiated as they contain fiber and protein. I found all the chapters filled with an interesting selection of recipes using mostly a combination of herbs and spices and vegetables to provide that unique Mediterranean flavor.
The desserts listed at the end seemed a little more adventurous. But overall I would definitely recommend this book to a cook’s library to for some variety.
