Follow multiple storylines to see how the present and the past are more connected than any of the Foresters understand. Begin in middle ages France, 1465 and the Foresters encounter a young child named Prisca in the woods near a battle. Back in the present, it's six months after the Foresters helped end of one of the original curses, and they're still struggling to adapt. But time waits for no one, and new dangers are rising. Jonah is investigating why Half-Elves have been getting abducted... then returned, Raymond's kids land in unexpected danger, and Martine has drawn the attention of both a powerful witch and the local Merfolk. Meanwhile, the Eklunds are trying to keep another God away from Priscilla. Events of the past forged them all into who they are today. But is it a change for the better?… (más)

I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel. The characters have remained fun to read and I highly recommend this book.

I started this book first and had to go back to Cursed by Fairies to get a full introduction to the characters. The story was intricate and interesting. We take sunlight for granted, but if robbed of the sight, what would we do to bask in the glow? Anything? Everything? Priscilla is interesting in the forthright way she wields power. I only wish the narrative descriptions produced more imagery. It felt as if things were skipped over for the sake of conversation. More show than tell? Otherwise, this was a very good and cozy read. This volume is was a little confusing. Between Priscilla and Jarl and Jarl’s family interfering with Martine and the time and place jumps both present and past and Raymond’s troubles with his family; it was a bit much. I think I got it all straightened out and will be ready for the next book, but it certainly was a challenge. I would not recommend anyone skipping book #1 and going straight to book #2.
It is intriguing and continues to offer new ideas and relationships concerning vampires (Elves) as well as half-elves and their human Guardians. Plenty of action, fun to read, if a bit confusing. If you have read the first book, don’t miss out on the fun with the second. ( )

I honestly didn't think I was going to like this series when I started reading the first book (Curse by Furies). It started off so slow that I was anticipating having to slog through it to get to this book to write a review. Boy, was I wrong. Once the pace started picking up and actually getting into the story, it was terrific.

You definitely have to read the first book to completely grasp this book, but it's well worth it. The premise of this story is completely unique, which I always love.

This book starts in the past. As the story progressed, it masterfully wove the past with what was happening in the now. Things that weren't completely clear in the first book became much clearer in this book, regarding relationships between characters and the back story. The relationships and the characters were real, relatable, and extremely well-developed.

I haven't read the third book yet, but plan to soon. I can't wait. ( )

I unexpectedly fell in lust with Cursed by Furies, book one in the Cursed Elves series. This book wasn't the sex filled smut fest I expected, it was better.

The standout factor of this book is that communication is an important factor in all the relationships and misunderstandings or hiding things from a partner isn't used as a plot device.

The pacing is great, I was never bored reading. The book did a great job of furthering the overall series plot while also containing its own story.

There is a great combination of Norse and Greek mythology mixed with fantasy aspects (mermaids, vampires, elves, witches, etc).

Highly recommend for anyone who likes paranormal or urban romance. ( )
