This retelling of the nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty" was something I really wasn't thinking would blow me away. BUT it did the story itself if short and well done. I had a bit of difficulty about being happy at the end of the book, but oddly I was. What made this book explode with great uniqueness was the elaborate illustrations done by Nathan Christopher. The details done on each page is just remarkably fantastic- I have not seen this kind of quality in a long time, especially in a children's book. I did receive a e-book version through Edelweiss BUT this no way changes my view on the book. In fact I plan on purchasing this book as soon as it comes out in January just because of the illustrations that I must have on my bookshelves Humpty Dumpty lived by a wall. Everyday he and everyone else walked to work in the shadow of the wall. Humpty Dumpty had an idea. Would his dream come true? The penciled illustrations drawn in a sepia tone set the mood for the story. This book is not for preschool storytime. It would work well for middle grades doing fairytale comparisons. The author brings about the idea of not accepting day to day life and daring to dream at all costs. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
