DI Robert Carroll and his assistant James Sayder are sent to Magnerstown to investigate the death of the bodies found in Sundays Well.
Unfortunately I didn't like the awful character of Carroll or the sense of humour in the story. Very surprised that someone as inept as Carroll as a detective and a human being was still in the police.

There is a dark seam within this otherwise humorous and light-hearted caper by Anne Crosse, that mirrors the moody disposition of the main detective, DI Robert Carroll. He's not pleased to be sent back to Magnerstown, the scene of previous humiliation and jilting, to investigate a murder. And as the plot thickens, so does his temper. Some great banter between the detectives, this is a cosyish tale that will tickle fans of crime fiction. ( )
