The Story:

Honestly my concern for Claire dominated the story for me. Cindy’s pushiness also got on my nerves a bit. I understand her reasoning but sometimes I wonder if she didn’t need the WMC to help her career would they even be friends? Joe got a lot of story time this go round too. (

Fair quick and easy read. There are two plots, one feels like a filler plot to gain more pages. The mail plot, mysterious. As usual, character development was exacting. I really hated Cindy's helper in the news room and he finally gets his comeuppance. As usual, it ended well. (

Maybe this series has run its course. I've read them all, but at this point characters are seeming whiny and immature. Plot (and multiple sub-plots) had a lot of potential, but never really developed. Felt like the entire book was "phoned in" and not sure I'll spend any time on #21.

Just couldn’t get into it. Disjointed. Maybe Patterson is trying to crank out too many different series?? The last 1/3 reminded me more of what I like about the series but couldn’t get into the first 2/3!!! (
