Favorite Quote(s):
― “You know that story about the princess and the pea? You’re the pea, Carrie. No matter what cushioning my mind lays over you, you still dig in. I can turn my back completely, and I still feel you there. You have no idea how difficult it’s been to feel you watching me all these months…and not reach for you.”
―“Everyone should want to spend forever with you.”
―“Being with a successful woman can’t make me less of a man. It’d make me less of a man if I was bothered by your success.”
―“I lied. I said that to keep you at a distance. You’re perfect. Literally perfect, and that’s terrifying because I don’t commit to anyone, and sex rarely goes well, but what else was I supposed to do with you? I said you weren’t my type because I was scared, but you are.”
Overall Opinion:
I was in awe with the magnificent writing style the author was able to showcase and her abilities to bring the characters to life. The raw feelings, emotions and hurt between the lead characters Carrie and Edwin are felt through the pages and despite the constant back and forth whirlwind of emotions thus being the only annoying portion of the read, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this novel. It easy to relate to couple and their inner turmoil. They are flawed humans who learn to grow and admit their faults which isn't often seen and besides being at opposite ends of the spectrum, they were able to work around their insecurities and fears before making it to their happily ever after. "His Billionaire Bride" was a worthwhile novel and I can't wait to indulge in the other installments of the series.
