This truly extraordinary work presents beautiful photographs of Prague. The focus is on the architecture, with views both inside and outside of the buildings. However, the famed Charles Bridge is included, as are sites of the city as taken from overlooks. Although most of the photos show buildings, some scenes show people, and others, paintings from the art museum.

The photographs are large, and in full color, distributed as 1 to 3 per page. Several take up two - page spreads, and some visas are presented in four-page foldouts. All of the photos are
accompanied with explanatory text, pointing out structural and historical aspects of what is illustrated. At 256 pages, and provided with a index, this work presents a valuable record of the city's highlights.

Having recently returned from Prague, I enjoyed looking at some of the sites that I saw; however, I also regret not having seen others that are illustrated. But, the days were hot and crowds were everywhere; and you can't do everything. That sort of thing is why books like this are published.... ( )
