Pacing is really off. I am not sure the big reveal was a secret. ( ) I liked the main characters and this could have been an excellent story. The thing that was missing was that the “thriller” part that was in the description, never really materialized. The killer was so obvious that there wasn’t any fun left for the reader to “solve the mystery”. There is also some topics in the book that are going to do everything from slightly embarrass to downright disgust some readers. I gave the book 3 stars but I read a lot of m/m romance books so I wasn’t bothered by it...but I can just imagine the reaction of some of my friends. I hate being over critical of authors who spend time and energy on creating a book. After all, my name hasn’t appeared on any book covers lately...but if a book is going to be something that a great many readers may be going to pick up because the book says that it's a “thriller”... or ” supernatural”...or ”mystery & suspense”... they shouldn’t have to then discover that they have a book composed of a large amount of porn and other disagreeable topics. There should have been a warning somewhere on the cover or in the book description. Forgotten Bones is a novel that I couldn't put down as it was so riveting and it had me guessing with every uncovered clue as more bodies were uncovered at the farm! Eric Evans was diagnosed at eighteen with Schizophrenia, but with medicine he has it under control enough that he is a professor of geology that a university, When Eric learns that his wife is cheating on him WITH HIS BROTHER, he moves across the country to start a new life, but his visions of a little boy in overalls will not let him rest. I thought it horrible that his family treated him this way, but his brother always tried to one up him and he couldn't imagine why his beautiful wife had chose him when she could have had any man that she wanted. I liked when small town police officer, Susan Marlan couldn't let the uncovered small boy an accident crash show a small boy who had been dead for years show up as her case, but as more bodies were discovered all over the farm the FBI had been called in. Susan was ticked that she had to butt out and she was determined with Eric's help to find the killer! It's billed as a "haunting thriller that walks the line between reality and impossibility." On the plus side, the main characters (apparently leads in a new series) are likable enough. The author also has a talent for writing comedy, on the evidence of the Prologue and some sequences in the book. In fact, I'd say most of the book is rather tongue-in-cheek. But as for impossible: the blurb is no doubt referring to the apparently supernatural elements in the story, but the plot as a whole is preposterous. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

When small-town police officers discover the grave of a young boy, they're quick to pin the crime on a convicted criminal who lives nearby. But when it comes to murder, Officer Susan Marlan never trusts a simple explanation, so she's just getting started. Meanwhile, college professor Eric Evans hallucinates a young boy in overalls: a symptom of his schizophrenia--or so he thinks. But when more bodies turn up, Eric has more visions, and they mirror details of the murder case. As the investigation continues, the police stick with their original conclusion, but Susan's instincts tell her something is off. The higher-ups keep stonewalling her, and the FBI's closing in. Desperate for answers, Susan goes rogue and turns to Eric for help. Together they take an unorthodox approach to the case as the evidence keeps getting stranger. With Eric's hallucinations intensifying and the body count rising, can the pair separate truth from illusion long enough to catch a monster? No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
