I started this book because my library offered an ebook version in German, and I needed the practice. Turns out the book is flat-out boring, with almost half the book come and gone before the murder even takes place. All this time spent building the characters and I still could not give less of a fuck about who killed the hairstylist or what happens to Agatha's love life. Hard pass. 3 1/2 stars While Agatha pines for James, she looks for a distraction in a new case when she decides John the hairdresser is a blackmailer. I'm glad Lot's of funny things happen I never put it together that Cozies Reading Challenge As usual over far too quickly but these are such fun as we watch Agatha go through a delayed adolescence and bumble her way through another murder mystery, this time accompanied by Sir Charles rather than James Lacy. Plenty of slapstick and of course lots of cups of tea with the ever calming Mrs Bloxly. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I admit I was relieved to take a break from James Lacey in this novel. I am beginning to loathe him.
Still though, our Aggie (she hates being called that) continues to pine, and then to tip towards falling for the completely amoral baronet, much to her regret.
But all that is background, right? The main story is the crime at hand and Agatha's determination and, yes, courage, in unraveling it.
I couldn't help but feel, however, that there were a few too many red herrings in this one. Still, though, a fun escape at a time when I have really needed one. ( )
