I learned so many things from his early life that i wish i would have known sooner like him being a lawyer and he lived in south Africa for some time.It shows great illustration also. any age would enjoy this book as much as i did. Gandhi had a huge influence durning the independence of Indians from the British. ( ) the pocket bio of Gandhi for the most part is filled with the points about his life that are widely known. Gandhi didn't like politics, but he knew it was a way to change society. So,, Gandhi was very instrumental in efforts to improve life for Indians in South Africa, he was a leader in peace strikes between Hindus and Muslims, he started the Quit India movement demanding all British people leave the country, and it is no surprise he was a huge influence and inspiration on the peaceful problem solving that came about through Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Although not as deep as his amazing life and legacy, this book teaches kids about a man who never gave up in his pursuit for equality and peace. Gandhi was persistent right up until his assassination. This book is illustrated with a little caricature of Gandhi that brought a smile to my face. This form makes the book interesting to look at while bringing it down a level for younger kids. Each page is complete with a date at the bottom. With each turn of the page, the reader is brought to another period and particularly important time in Gandhi’s life. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"Mahatma Gandhi was the celebrated leader of the Indian independence movement, and an inspiration for many similar movements around the world. Gandhi began his push for nonviolent civil disobedience as an expatriate lawyer in South Africa, eventually bringing the practice to India where he led the Indian National Congress. He is referred to as the Father of the Nation, and remains a symbol of freedom and nonviolence to this day"--Publisher's description. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
