This book perfectly captures the experience of going on an adventure with a group of friends. It's exciting and cozy at the same time, and lighthearted even when the characters are dealing with some heavy stuff. The whole cast was so relateable. I connected hard with the way Liza was quiet, socially awkward, obsessed with books and harbouring a crush on a seemingly unattainable girl, with Olivia's distress over working for years to get into a prestigious course and then messing up at the very end, with Mai's panic attacks during exam time, with Tam's struggle to deal with her father's illness, with Kit's ... OK, I guess I didn't relate to Kit on a personal level but I could sure see why everyone loved her. It was just so nice.

My only complaint: yet another case of the missing b-word. It's always "I'm sometimes into girls", never "I'm bisexual". As a bi girl, that's frustrating.
