The cow wants to be a horse, the horse wants to be a duck and all the other animals are just as confused! The Cow Said Neigh by Rory Feek is a hilarious and playful read with plenty of rhymes and lovely illustrations. Tip: act shocked and surprised over the wrong animal sound. Ask your child to imitate the correct animal sound. Note: if your child is still learning animal sounds, you may want to hold off on this book until they are a bit older. 4.5 Stars. This picture book is a fun story that will be a real hit with kids who love silly rhyming stories. We start out with a cow who thinks the horse lives in greener pastures, so decides to try on the horse's voice and goes neigh. Then the horse sees a duck, and the duck sees a sheep, and so it continues as we check in on the various animals you'd expect to find on a farm. Of course while reading this with a two year old, she kept making the animal sounds and laughing as each animal made the wrong noise. The playful rhymes follow a good pattern and the illustrations were adorable. I really liked the cartoon like animals and the expressions on their faces. This is a cute story that would be a great one for young children, especially those learning about farms and farm animals. The publisher, Thomas Nelson, generously provided me with a copy of this book upon my request. The rating, ideas and opinions are my own. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Illustrations and rhyming text follow a series of farm animals as each wishes it could be another, and lets out the sound of the animal it envies. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

The cadence in this story is perfect! As a mother that reads aloud A LOT of books, rhythm is very important, but as this book comes from a musician, it doesn't surprise me that it's spot on. It's sweet and simple, goofy and fun. Each animal has a unique character and the illustrations capture them perfectly. Attention to even the smallest details is what gives the book heart. The picture on the side table features Rory's family, the farmer's overalls his signature. As a huge fan of farm books and because of the author, the authenticity rings true. I'll be adding this book to my wish list, I could read it over and over. ( )
