Nautilus Book Awards Silver Winner Bob Langrish's World of Horses is the culminating collection of a master photographer who has traveled six continents in search of the most compelling horses in their native habitats. From the Mongolian steppe to the South African desert, barrier islands to city streets, Langrish has recorded the lives and activities of these majestic and beloved animals. His images capture the grace and soul of horses in all shapes and sizes. Brisk, lively text by Olympic gold medalist Jane Holderness-Roddam accompanies each photo, relating the story of how horse behaviors and traits vary by habitat, as well as the behind-the-scenes details of Langrish's adventures. Dramatic, poignant, and personal, Langrish's photos are a testament to the ancient and abiding horse-human relationship.… (más)

Bob Langrish's World of Horses is a stunning collection of equine photos from around the world. There's plenty of information about these magnificent animals accompanying the photos, discussing how traits and behaviours are shaped by environment. The book itself is organised by terrain rather than by breed, or chronologically. Tiny maps show where each picture was taken. I do wish that the pictures were bigger, however I had a digital copy, bound by tablet size constraints. Overall, though, I lived this collection! I grew up on a horse farm, and spent a substantial amount of my childhood around them. This book brought back many happy memories. Perfect for horse lovers of any stripe!

***Many thanks to the Netgalley and Storey Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. ( )

Bob Langrish’s World of Horses A Master Photographer’s Lifelong Quest to Capture the Most Magnificent Horses in the World by Bob Langrish is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary. This is a stunning book of the most gorgeous horses from around the world. You don't have to guess where in the world they are from either, the author has a map detailing where each type of horse is from, a brief history of the horses, and some other wonderful tidbits. This is a book I could look at all day! It is one of those books that make me want to share with the world, I have to get one for my coffee table, (boy is it getting crowded, lol). It is a feel-good book just looking at the photos! Loved it and the information in it! Great job! ( )
