After a brief introduction, the book is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 1, “Have Your Fries And Eat Them, Too” offers information on how and why you would want to use the air fryer. It even Includes a handy comparison chart of the top air fryer brands.
Chapter 2, “Ready, Set, Air-Fry“, You learn about what to stock in your kitchen pantry to ensure you have the staples you will need for air frying. Other information like a step-by-step guide to air frying is included along with an air fryer troubleshooting list and handy cooking chart of popular air fried foods.
The top 10 list includes tips for getting your air fryer working perfectly every time and will be invaluable for the new user. The chapter is rounded out with information on what is included in the recipes including a list of the various labels and nutritional information included.
The Recipes
Chapters 3 through 9 are the recipe chapters including:
Breakfast
Snacks And Appetizers
Vegetables And Sides
Fish And Seafood
Poultry
Beef, Pork, And Lamb
Dessert
The beginning of each recipe chapter starts with a list of all of the included recipes and their page numbers. Here you will find the only picture for any of the recipes within that category, thankfully labeled with the recipe name and page number.
The recipes themselves are well laid out and labeled. Recipe labels include:
Fast (30 minutes or less, start to finish)
Family Favorite (recipes that can feed a family of four and that kids and picky eaters will love)
Vegetarian
Gluten-Free
Brandi’s Favorite (personal family favorites and recipes the author prepares often)
Fry temperature, prep time, cook time and servings are followed by a brief description of the recipe, the ingredients, and directions. I found that the directions are very thorough, leaving little room for error.
And many of the recipes also include a tip, either an ingredient tip, cooking tip, substitution tip, sometimes more than one. I find that these tips help make the recipes more flexible and easier to follow, especially if you are unfamiliar with the ingredient or cooking technique.
The end of each recipe includes the nutritional information. Included are Calories, Total Fat, Saturated Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium, Carbohydrates, Fiber, and Protein.
Lots Of Variety And Tips
Throughout the book, the author includes little side comments pointing out the benefit of the air fryer in a particular recipe. For instance, the comment may mention the amount of fat the air fryer recipe has reduced from the standard fry recipe.
There are a wide variety of recipes in the book. Everything from PopTart-like pastries to Korean Short Ribs is included. The recipe index at the end will help you find the recipes by name, the general index will help find them by ingredient.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who has an air fryer. It would also be a great add-on if you’re giving an air fryer as a gift. I think that even someone who is well familiar with air fryer cooking techniques would find several recipes to enjoy. They might even learn a few extra tips or tricks.
