I strongly disliked this book. I hated the changes that were made that diverted from the true history - didn’t make sense as to why they were necessary. I hated Eliza’s character in this book - the matchmaking storyline was incredibly frustrating. I would have DNFed this if I hadn’t read the rest of the series. ( )

I think Ms. de la Cruz could have a real talent for historical fiction if she would be more mindful of her word choices and refrain from having 19th century persons say things like, "I didn't want them to be all matchy-matchy," (as Eliza Hamilton does). ( )
